Assist Supervisor and Maintenance Tech 3 in the repair and maintenance equipment to include all ammonia equipment to include all ammonia equipment, compressed air, cooling systems as directed by Supervisor.**Your Opportunity**Our team members receive industry-leading wages and are eligible for great benefits packages:
* Competitive Starting Pay **-** **$30.75-$32.75/hr*** **$1.00/hr** shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift positions* Comprehensive Health Insurance, Retirement Benefits and MoreIn addition, we offer opportunities for career growth, professional development, and tuition assistance.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:*** Follow all Personnel Safety and Food Safety policies/procedures, GMP’s and plant rules.* Ensure the safe operation of plant equipment and machinery, the safe use of tools and the safety of others working in the immediate area.* Operate, repair and maintain all assigned equipment, to include all ammonia equipment, compressed air, dehumidification equipment, steam, cooling systems, air and water filters, plumbing, heat exchangers, water treatment, heaters, level controls and water systems.* Perform troubleshooting and repair electrical systems, electrical controls, electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, blowers/fans.* Resolve equipment malfunctions by evaluating performance breakdowns, identifying the root cause, safely repairing the equipment, and taking actions to prevent recurring failures.* Coordinate with supervisor all short term repairs and long term repairs to minimize production downtime.* Ensure all assigned work and preventative maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner.* Utilize the CMMS system to document all work preformed and enter data into the computer.* Must be able to follow all work instructions and document all appropriate records to meet requirements set forth by OSHA, EPA, USDA and plant management.* Must be able to work flexible hours with some overtime hours depending on the need of the business.* All other duties as assigned.**Education and Experience Requirement:**Minimum Requirements* A minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing plantPreferred Experience* Experience with at least two of the three types of equipment; machine drive equipment, meat grinding and processing equipment and/or screw augers and conveyors* Post-secondary education and/or technical trade certification.* Experience in refrigeration, building/facility maintenance and electrical control systemsIndSPR-M/ERelocation Package AvailableNo**EEO Information***Smithfield is an equal opportunity employer committed to workplace diversity.
