Job Description

Performs benchtop testing of large molecules using ELISA, MCE, and ICIEF assays

Maintains laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory.

Adheres to good documentation practices (GDP) for all paper and electronic documentation.

Collects and processes all raw data about executed assays.

Uses Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample management and documentation of test results.

Performs peer review of procedural execution and processed data.

Works with data reviewers and authorizers to complete any needed corrections or retesting.

Uses GDP to record activities in logbooks, laboratory notebooks, and electronic systems.

Conducts laboratory safety and compliance walkthroughs with documentation of any observations.

Completes all safety and procedural trainings and re-training.

Leadership Responsibilities

Personnel management and development.

Manages and coordinates the team's workload.

Manages cross‑training and capacity of the team.

Monitors and reports all productivity and quality metrics.

Proactive and effective communication with client and customer teams.

Completes routine laboratory safety walkthroughs and employee compliance checks.

Participates in the hiring process and onboarding/training of new hires.

Delivers training for new hires and other employees in the department.

Participates in overtime and weekend scheduling as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or other science‑related degree concentration, or equivalent directly‑related experience.

2 years of cGMP experience.

2 years of leadership experience.

Experience with immunoassays and electrophoresis.

Experience with processing quantitative data.

Experience using an electronic sample and data management system (LIMS).

Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Position is Full Time, Monday‑Friday, First Shift, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.‑4 p.m. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselear, New York, are encouraged to apply.
