Counter Salesperson
at our Fresno, CA location. Pay ranges from $30,000 to $60,000 per year at this location. If you are outgoing, service‑oriented, and determined to close sales while building lasting relationships, we’d like you to join our team as a
Counter Salesperson . About the Role
Confidently assist customers who purchase and/or pick up merchandise at the Profit Center. Accurately process and fill Sales Orders generated at the sales counter. Attract and retain customers. Work with the PCM to establish revenue and margin targets. Verify the Pick Ticket ship date matches the material pick‑up date, update it, and obtain customer signature before releasing material. Provide customers with reliable information on product specifications, pricing, and availability. Keep the counter area and merchandise displays clean, neat, current, stocked, and safely displayed. Ensure security and control at the primary point of customer contact. Communicate with the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager any changes in a customer’s business that might pose credit risk. Process cash‑sale returns and refund paperwork per company policy. Inform supervisor of inventory levels or stock depletions that could impact customer service. Assist co‑workers in servicing customers, answering incoming calls, stocking merchandise, and pulling orders for delivery. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management. About You
1+ years of experience in customer service or counter sales; contractor sales preferred. Knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center. Valid driver’s license. Ideal Candidate Attributes
Demonstrate outstanding customer service, verbal communication, and listening skills. Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and suggest associated products for purchase. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co‑workers. Ask probing questions to understand customer needs, overcome objections, and close orders. Apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material‑handling environment. Operate warehouse material‑handling equipment, hand tools, and computer systems used to process orders. Perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Read, write, speak, and understand English. Benefits
