Job Summary The Concessions Stand Lead is responsible for the complete operation of an assigned concession stand. Coordinates the workforce to provide prompt, accurate, and friendly service for all venue guests. Enforces all company policies related to food and beverage service, responsible alcohol service, and cash handling procedures. All Stand Leads report directly to the Concessions Supervisor of the assigned stand.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists supervisor with pre‑event, event, and post‑event operation of concessions stand.
Ensures all stand personnel wear proper uniform, follow company policies, and takes appropriate action when needed.
On an event basis, ensures accuracy of location paperwork, opening and closing inventory, product transfers, spoilage, and gratis meals.
Assists in supervising and training all stand personnel engaged in food preparation.
Leads and coordinates activities of stand personnel, including stocking, inventory, food preparation, customer service, and assigns all staff duties within the stand.
Maintains clean, organized, and sufficiently stocked workstations, storerooms, and back‑of‑stand areas during the event.
Communicates effectively with leadership, other departments, and vendors to ensure proper setup and operation of the stand.
Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
Assists in discrepancy of inventory counts and maintains high‑quality appearance of the concession location at all times.
Oversees all closing procedures for the concessions stand, including assigning closing duties, closing out point‑of‑sale systems, ensuring proper storage or disposal of food, and thoroughly cleaning and inspecting the stand after completion of the event.
Must comply with all company policies, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs (opening, mid‑day, closing, night shifts, weekends, holidays throughout the year).
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required; at least six months of food service/retail operations experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong interpersonal skills, self‑motivation, and organization skills required.
Food Handler’s certificate from the County of San Diego preferred.
21 years or older is preferred to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification for alcohol service.
Must be able to read, write, and understand English; proficiency in English required for instruction, communication, and documentation.
Must be able to stand for prolonged hours, handle and reach objects, lift or carry up to 50 pounds, and move quickly in a food production area.
Employment Conditions and Hazards Work is performed in a food production area with exposure to food fumes, moving mechanical parts, and cleaning chemicals. Employees work outside with varying weather, dust, allergens, and temperatures. Noise level is moderate on non‑event days and moderate to loud on event days.
Background Check Information Background checks will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment is extended and accepted. Checks will include verification of education, employment, criminal records, and references.
