Human Services Consultants is a foster care agency specializing in therapeutic foster care. We've been around since 2000 and have been training and licensing qualified families to assist in healing trauma experienced by children and adolescents. HSC aims to provide community-based services to children and families that promote and enable self-sufficiency and stability. HSC realizes the value of every child, and their right to live in a healthy environment that offers the opportunity for a good life. We are currently looking for a Licensing & Clinical Support Specialist to help us grow our foster family census.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Assist foster parents in providing the foster child(ren) with opportunities for the child to effectively manage their behaviors.

Assist with crisis management and de-escalation techniques as needed.

Interact positively and appropriately (able to set professional boundaries) with foster parents and child(ren) when conducting home visits, meetings, CFTs, Court, etc.

Assist foster parents and child(ren) in all areas of well-being needs (e.g. Emotional, Education, Moral, Spiritual, Social, and Physical).

Facilitates the processing of amendments to existing licenses and renewals, as well as assisting in formulating corrective action plans when needed.

Monitors homes for health and safety.

Responds to foster care inquiries and screening for the licensing process.

Requests and tracks foster parent licensing forms to aid in the completion of renewal licenses.

Authors case notes for each child on caseload, as necessary to document treatment, progress, advocacy, research, team meetings, needs and concerns, discharge plans, etc.

Participates in foster parent training events.

Enhances knowledge of foster care and mental health by attending professional seminars and workshops

Complies with all regulations and organization and department policies.

Maintains and safeguards the confidentiality of all clients and foster parent records in accordance with Arizona statutes, administrative rules and regulations.

Utilizes a family systems approach to planning, coordinating and implementing services while being cognizant of cultural, ethnic and environmental differences.

Attends and participates in weekly licensing and staffing meetings.

Performs miscellaneous office activities as needed to support our small and collaborative agency.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from accredited University or College

Must have a minimum of one year of experience in child welfare

Must have at least one year of previous experience in social work, behavioral health or related field

Previous training and/or experience in the field of behavioral science

Previous experience in social work and/or casework

Knowledge of licensing process preferred

Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
