Description Engineers II/Sr Engineers support the day‑to‑day operation, long‑term performance, and reliability of critical plant equipment. The role focuses on preventing equipment failures by leveraging condition monitoring, implementing robust asset strategies, and driving defect elimination efforts. The Mechanical Engineer serves as a champion for reliability best practices and actively mentors others to build an initiative‑taking, reliability‑centered culture across the organization.
Responsibilities
Support the operation and maintenance of fixed mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and piping systems.
Provide technical support for plant systems and processes such as flange management, pressure equipment repair, welding and NDT, piping stress analysis, and piping vibration management (AIV/FIV).
Provide mechanical engineering support for day‑to‑day plant operations and long‑term reliability targets, including frontline response for mechanical issues and failures.
Drive continuous improvement in mechanical equipment (safety, cost, availability) through: Maintenance strategy optimization
Root Cause Failure Analysis
Bad actor analysis
Management of Change
Debottlenecking and efficiency optimization
Define and implement QA/QC programs for mechanical equipment maintenance.
Participate in the review and approval of engineering designs, modifications, and repair plans.
Provide integral interaction and support for inter‑company teams such as Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Process.
Develop and optimize asset strategies based on asset criticality.
Support the site reliability strategy and implement condition monitoring programs and standards.
Identify and address spare parts gaps for critical equipment.
Initiate, define, justify, and support the execution of strategic initiatives and capital projects to improve equipment reliability.
Knowledge of rotating equipment is a plus but not a requirement.
Relocation Assistance Relocation assistance is available for this position, dependent upon meeting eligibility requirements.
Qualifications
Engineer II
1–3 years of professional engineering experience.
Knowledge and application of engineering theories, principles, and fundamentals.
Competency in applying engineering principles and developing project objectives.
Experience with configuration management.
Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software.
Planning, organizational, and project management skills.
Sr Engineer
5+ years of professional engineering experience (PE license preferred).
Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
Skilled in advanced techniques and modifications of engineering concepts.
Strong leadership and team‑project‑lead capabilities.
Guidance to less experienced engineers.
Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
Sr Engineer II
8 years of professional engineering experience (PE license required) or 10 years if no license.
Significant engineering knowledge of natural gas industry related to pipeline, compressor station, and process equipment design.
Project management skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
Critical thinking and decision‑making skills.
All Levels
Oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.
Effective decision‑making skills.
Computer skills and application of software programs.
Analytical and abstract thinking skills.
Problem‑solving skills.
Ability to develop effective planning, project, and organization skills.
Team‑work and leadership skills.
