Seasonal Surgical ICU Registered Nurse – MEDICAL CITY DALLAS
Program Overview
Seasonal PRN status with a full‑time schedule. This seasonal program runs from September 21, 2025, to April 4, 2026.
Compensation
Rate: $62/hr plus applicable differentials.
Program Requirements
Minimum of 72 hours worked per pay period during the seasonal period.
Within a close geography may be asked to float to another facility with emergent staffing needs.
Four (4) weekend shifts required each four‑week schedule period.
Two (2) holiday shifts required during the 32‑week period, defined by Department Manager or designee.
PRN status employees subject to first call‑off; no guaranteed hours.
Not eligible for benefits except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
No extra shift bonuses.
One opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program for 2025‑26.

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with department requirements and state/specialty standards. In collaboration with providers and the care team, the RN delivers individualized, compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients, families, and caregivers and upholds the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents care in the patient medical record timely.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical condition, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures; translates complex terminology for complete understanding.
Provides education on healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepares patients/families for self‑management.
Manages evidence‑based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes recovery.
Qualifications
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment start date.
Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Associate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum of 1 year ICU/critical care RN experience.
