Overview
The licensed athletic trainer delivers care under the direction and/or collaboration of a physician or licensed rehab therapist and functions as an integral member of the multi‑disciplinary care team. The trainer works closely with the supervising therapist, physician, or APP by assisting in maintaining clinic flow, clinic cleanliness and stocking, patient education, community outreach, performing therapeutic interventions, supervising group classes, and assisting with office procedures. The athletic trainer is also responsible for carrying out other clinic duties and clerical responsibilities as detailed below, supporting clinic operations and delivering high‑quality, safe, patient‑centered care in collaboration with a supervising physician, therapist and clinical care team. Responsibilities
Assists with clinic patient flow Assist with maintaining adequate stocking of supplies in designated rooms and clinical areas Maintains the cleanliness and general appearance of examination and treatment areas. Cleans, disinfects, sterilizes, and maintains equipment and instruments. Assists in ordering of supplies as directed or assigned. Reviews assigned provider schedules to ensure receipt of records and accuracy of orders. Computerize order entry and charging for appropriate services as indicated by provider or written protocols. Assist with insurance coordination workflow as directed. Prepared patient room and equipment for procedures and exams. Conducts brief interview and history, obtains vital signs, performs basic screening/diagnostic measures and collect and processes specimens. Performs patient education for durable medical equipment to include training on use of assistive devices. Prepares and educates patients on home exercise programs. Sets up for and supervises group/community programming and specialty clinics. Assists in clinic procedures such as aspirations, injections, therapy modalities. Completes assigned in basket and hot call duties pertaining to physical, occupational, speech language pathology and physiatry questions. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required. Required Licensure/Certifications
Must be licensed, or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the State of NH. BLS within 30 days of hire. Seniority level
