We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of GAAP, and experience with various accounting software. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting audits and regulatory filings. What you’ll Own

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards. Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and accuracy. Conduct bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis to monitor financial health. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Ensure compliance with SOX controls and other regulatory requirements such as LIHTC regulations. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for daily operations. Maintain detailed documentation of financial transactions and report writing for management review. Mentor junior team members on technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial concepts. Support special projects related to corporate finance, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, or securities law as needed. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or governmental accounting environments. Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, financial statement preparation, and financial analysis techniques. Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; advanced Excel skills required. Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, journal entries, and audit support efficiently. Excellent analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial concepts like cash flow analysis and budgeting. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Effective communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating across teams.
