The Hermitage CTC is part of Acadia Healthcare’s Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication‑assisted treatment in the nation. The clinical team delivers compassionate, high‑quality counseling and therapy to patients seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder. Your Role

The Peer Support Specialist supports patients in their recovery from Opioid Use Disorder, bridges treatment barriers, and enhances patients’ skills to maintain long‑term recovery. The role involves advocacy, mentorship, and coordination with clinical teams and community resources. Job Responsibilities

Provide peer support to clinically complex patients, drawing on shared experience to validate and encourage recovery participation. Engage patients at the initial point of contact to expedite screening for appropriate care levels. Act as advocate and mentor, promoting decision making, empowerment, and engagement. Model coping techniques and self‑help strategies to foster personal growth and wellness. Offer peer support knowledge related to methadone, buprenorphine, and extended‑release naltrexone maintenance treatment. Serve as liaison between patients, clinical team, and community resources, assisting with housing, medical care, employment, and life skills. Consult on MAT and community support groups such as Narcotics Anonymous and Celebrate Recovery. Inform healthcare team regularly of patient status, mood changes, medical issues, and safety concerns. Document no‑shows, contact difficulties, and service details per clinical standards. Attend office training and regular clinical supervision sessions. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Education & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. No prior work experience required, though highly preferred. Preferred: personal or internship experience in substance use disorder through lived experience, instruction, or practicum. Ideal Experience

Lived experience in addiction recovery and commitment to supporting others. Familiarity with MAT approaches and ability to support individuals on MAT services. Experience facilitating peer‑led support groups or one‑on‑one recovery coaching. Knowledge of evidence‑informed practices such as Motivational Interviewing, wellness planning, and relapse prevention. Basic documentation skills (progress notes, recovery plans) per organizational guidelines. Aware of confidentiality and privacy standards, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team. Licenses / Certifications
