The foreman supervises field operations of a grading crew and engages in the trade work performed by the crew. They work with operators and laborers across the field crew.
Key Duties
Knowledgeable in excavation and grading.
Directly supervises grading crew, reporting to the Superintendent.
Operates and supervises heavy equipment on project sites.
Reads, understands, and interprets drawings and specifications.
Provides reports on time and materials.
Ensures all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
Supervises the use of heavy equipment.
Maintains flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, and shift timing.
Requirements
Experience operating relevant heavy equipment.
5+ years of NCDOT, commercial and/or residential grading experience.
3+ years of supervisory experience.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50+ lbs.
