Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and collect specimens as required
• Explain specimen collection process to patients clearly and courteously
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes for accuracy
• Review and confirm physician orders and test requisitions
• Ensure 100% accuracy when checking specimen labels and requisitions
• Update patient information in the system
• Store specimens according to required conditions and temperature
• Package specimens for transport to the lab
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
