Job Description
Position Description:
Lead a team using Artificial Intelligence expertise to solve challenging problems.
Design, build, and implement solutions to solve problems to enable the future state of operations and work processes within Ameritas.
This position supports the advancement of AI capabilities by managing the implementation of targeted AI initiatives in alignment with company strategy, mission, and goals. The role partners with key stakeholders to deliver impactful AI solutions while managing a small team and fostering collaboration across business and enterprise services.
Position Location:
This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Lincoln, NE) and partially from home.
What you do:
Work to further advance and mature the development model within Ameritas AI, and move towards an "AI Ops" delivery model.
Apply AI to tactically and tangibly put it into action to solve business problems and create value.
Support the development and execution of AI initiatives that align with company strategy and business objectives.
Manage a team responsible for evaluating, prototyping, and implementing AI use cases that deliver business value.
Collaborate with senior leaders, product teams, and enterprise services to ensure AI initiatives are prioritized and integrated into broader roadmaps.
Facilitate working sessions and contribute to cross-functional groups (e.g., AI Council) to assess opportunities and recommend investments.
Contribute to the development of AI governance standards, ethical frameworks, and responsible use practices in coordination with Legal, Risk, and Compliance.
Partner with the data analytics and information governance teams to ensure data quality, model transparency, and alignment with governance practices.
Coordinate with IT and business teams to support the deployment of AI technologies in applicable business processes.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure AI initiative outcomes and inform future planning.
Stay informed of emerging AI trends and best practices and provide recommendations on potential applications within the company.
Build team capability and foster a collaborative and innovative culture that supports learning and growth in AI.
What you bring:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
4-7 years of overall relevant experience required.
2 or more years of supervisory, management, or leadership experience required.
1-3 years of experience with software engineering management or leadership required.
Exposure to or experience with in A.I. related technologies including generative A.I. language model architecture, transformers, A.I. agents, or agentic development required.
