Base Pay Range $44,113 – $52,936 per year
Work Hours Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (EST)

Department Wastewater Maintenance
Essential Functions
Assists in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
Performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs under the guidance of a senior mechanic.
Learns to diagnose and repair mechanical machinery such as pumps, motors, gear reducers, and valves related to wastewater operations.
Assists with the disassembly and rebuilding of equipment such as centrifuges.
Troubleshoots mechanical systems to identify and address problems.
Performs minor fabrication of parts as required.
Assists with the repair and maintenance of digester building equipment, cell gates, cell blowers, and water lines.
Maintains regular attendance and good interpersonal relationships with staff, co‑workers, managers, and citizens.
Accomplishes the essential functions of the job in a timely manner, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Reports to or remains at work during inclement weather situations or administrative closings as directed by the department head.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensing & Certifications
Valid Driver’s License.
Ability to obtain mobile equipment certifications.
Knowledge & Skills
Safe work practices; basic plumbing principles; welding principles; heavy equipment operation principles.
Adheres to safe work practices; utilizes basic hand and power tools; reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Communicates and collaborates with coworkers and the public.
Physical Demands
Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Work Environment
Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds constantly.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gasses, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, confined spaces, heights, and infectious diseases.
