As a Lease Operator you’ll be responsible for the daily maintenance of a designated route or group of oil and gas wells. In addition, you’ll develop and demonstrate essential operating skills through ongoing training and by working with multi-well pads, compressors, and various artificial lift methods. Responsibilities/Expectations
Conducts production tests and perform routine repairs
Completes operational checks of assigned wells/equipment and identify and report changes in individual well performance
Performs minor maintenance of equipment
Gauges tanks and prepare for sale and manage fluid inventory on production facilities
Lights gas-fired vessels/emission control devices
Conducts environmental and Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) audits to assess field operations, buildings, facilities, tools, and equipment
Other duties as assigned
Lease Operator I – Education / Years of Experience
Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum six (6) months of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or similar role
Preferred: Associates or two-year technical degree
Lease Operator II – Education / Years of Experience
Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum two (2) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or similar role
Preferred: Associates or two-year technical degree
Lease Operator III – Education / Years of Experience
Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum three (3) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or similar role
Preferred: Associates or two-year technical degree
Lease Operator Sr – Education / Years of Experience
Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum six (6) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or similar role
Preferred: Associates or two-year technical degree
Physical and Environment Work Requirements Must be willing to:
Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
Use hand tools
Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements
Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as required
May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays
Other Requirements
Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
Demonstrates proficiency and ability to adopt technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills and basic knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
The Lease Operator III is responsible for the overall daily operation and maintenance of a route or specified group of oil and gas wells. The Lease Operator III will demonstrate advanced operating skills through increased training, troubleshooting and problem-solving on routes that may include multi-well pads, compressors and a variety of artificial lift systems. Performs routine and structured work assignments. Contributes to tasks within a team, function, or work group. Advanced knowledge of processes for the assigned work. Exercises independent judgment, relying on pre-established guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures. Works independently. This position will report to the Wamsutter, WY field office.
