MRO Buyer – Manufacturing / Maintenance Support
This is a
hands‑on MRO Buyer role
supporting a busy manufacturing facility where uptime, responsiveness, and cost control matter.
You’ll work closely with the maintenance team to source parts, tools, and services needed to keep equipment running—while actively looking for
better pricing, better suppliers, and better ways to manage MRO spend . This role is about follow‑through, problem‑solving, and knowing how to get things done in a plant environment.
This is not a corporate purchasing role. It’s best suited for someone who understands manufacturing, is comfortable dealing with maintenance requests, and takes pride in finding the
right part at the right price .
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage day‑to‑day
MRO purchasing
for maintenance and plant operations
Source cost‑effective parts, tools, supplies, and services
Work directly with maintenance to support repairs, PMs, and breakdowns
Identify alternative vendors and negotiate pricing
Control and monitor MRO spend
Manage contractor sourcing and act as point of contact for onsite contractors
Obtain quotes and support maintenance and capital projects
Maintain inventory of critical MRO items
Track POs, invoices, and receipts; support Accounting with reconciliation
Maintain vendor and item data in the ERP system
Follow up to ensure materials arrive on time and issues are resolved
What We’re Looking For
Experience buying
MRO or maintenance‑related materials
in a manufacturing environment
Comfortable working closely with maintenance and operations
Strong follow‑up and organizational skills
Practical, cost‑focused mindset—always looking for better pricing and alternatives
ERP experience preferred
Mechanical familiarity is helpful but
not required
On‑site role supporting a manufacturing facility
Office based in the annex building near the plant
Regular interaction with maintenance and vendors
Fast‑paced, high‑responsibility role
About the Company Our client is a large North American consumer packaged goods manufacturing organization supplying products through major retail and distribution channels. The business has grown significantly over the past several years, increasing the complexity and importance of MRO purchasing at the plant level.
