Performs specimen collection procedures for inpatients and outpatients. Performs non-technical specimen processing, preparation and distribution of specimens from patients./ph3Qualifications/h3pstrongRequired:/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education/liliClinical training in an approved phlebotomy training program, OR,/liliHold at least a two (2) year degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or a health-related specialty, OR/liliTwo (2) years experience in specimen collections, specimen processing and specimen requisitioning for a clinical laboratory or health care delivery system., OR/liliClinical training in a Northside Hospital Lab, as part of the clinical rotations needed for education requirements (high school or college level), OR/liliHold a valid, verifiable Phlebotomy Certification/liliAll applicants must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening Test./li/ulpstrongPreferred:/strong/pulliAbility to use and understand medical laboratory terminology./liliDemonstrated knowledge of computer systems and design./liliDemonstrated public relations skills and service delivery training./liliAbility to work both independently and as part of a team./liliAbility to understand and apply accurate procedures in specimen handling and clerical processing./liliMust have sufficient feeling in fingers and visual ability to locate patients blood vessels./liliAbility to communicate effectively and must possess good written and oral communication skills./li/ulh3Work Hours:/h3pSat - Mon: 7:00pm - 7:30am/ph3Weekend Requirements:/h3pYes/ph3On-Call Requirements:/h3pNo/p/div
