Tanks Project Manager - Houston, TX

Bechtel Energy's Tank Center of Excellence (TCOE) is currently supporting a large number of LNG and Petrochem projects through various studies and FEEDS. Several of these projects will have an immediate demand for an experienced Area Manager. Additionally, TCOE is also pursuing projects with other Bechtel business units, both domestic and international. This has also created a demand for experienced Tank Area Manager support in Houston. Job Summary
The Area Manager will be responsible for planning and execution of all aspects of work performed by Bechtel's Tank Center of Excellence (TCOE) on these potential projects. This role will be based in the Houston Office with frequent travel throughout the USA and internationally. Major Responsibilities
Manage, coordinate, and administer the project through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start up, initial operations, and prime contract close out Oversee the development of budgets and schedules, manage performance, report progress and initiate action to assure program/project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications Monitor and control all contractual commitments to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings and terms of the contract, that a trend program is in place, and that change orders and claims are processed in a timely manner Resolve all issues and coordinate the final turnover of project to the customer Provide leadership for the development and maintenance of a high-performance project team Responsible for project execution, ensure that the project is delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality and safety, and to the customer and Bechtel performance expectations Lead/conduct project and customer meetings to promote and facilitate communication, review progress/performance, discuss issues, and facilitate problem resolution Education and Experience Requirements
Level 1 Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience Level 2 Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of industry, technology and EPC work processes, including knowledge of customs, culture, and business practices Previous project management or construction management experience on lump sum and/or reimbursable tank projects in domestic or international settings Knowledge and experience in project execution plan development and implementation Knowledge and experience in contracts/subcontracts formulation, risk analysis and negotiations Ability to effectively organize and staff a project team within a matrix organization Prior construction supervision and management experience on LNG Tanks or Double Wall Tanks and/or LNG Regas EPC projects similar to the projects described above Strong "Zero Accident" ES&H experience Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills Advanced level of knowledge of ES&H, procurement, and construction Location
