Senior Data Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our client's innovative and growing team. This Sr. Data Engineer will be responsible for curating data (data models, data ETL pipelines, views) in an Azure-based environment to support their upcoming implementation. Cloud-based data engineering is required and experience using the Azure stack. The engineer will be a part of an innovative team working to partner and work closely with the current team(s) and stakeholders across the enterprise on this continued Microsoft push, focusing on Purview as a priority deliverable. Candidates must possess the technical capabilities to extract, retrieve, and analyze data with SQL based tools. The engineer should possess strong interpersonal communication skills to be able to bridge the gap between business and technical users to understand and assess requirements and deliver data-driven solutions. The role will also involve adhering to data governance standards and practices along with experience developing in an agile environment using Azure boards. This role can pay between $40-45/hr. Skills and Requirements: 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in a Microsoft-based environment Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation Hands-on experience with Azure Data & Analytics PaaS services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse) Familiarity with data cataloging, the Azure data ecosystem, and data warehousing concepts Knowledge of data governance and security best practices in Azure Experience with Azure Security Center, including Key Vault and Azure Function App Expertise in building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory Proficiency in designing data models for Azure services like Cosmos DB (NoSQL) and Azure SQL Database (relational) Familiarity with Azure Databricks for distributed data processing Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automating data workflows
