Are you passionate about mixology and providing exceptional service? The Elms Hotel & Spa is looking for friendly and courteous individuals to join our team as Bartenders. If you enjoy creating delicious beverages and ensuring guest satisfaction, we want to hear from you! As a Bartender, you will serve beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. You will also prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests and act as a cashier for the lounge. Your daily responsibilities will include maintaining proper and adequate set-up of the bar, requisitioning and stocking all necessary items, and ensuring the quality of fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables. Greeting guests warmly, promoting and documenting drink orders, and mixing, garnishing, and presenting drinks using standard recipes and prudent portion control are key aspects of the role. You will abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages. Additionally, you will input orders into a register, create checks for each guest, and maintain accountability for all beverages served. Handling cash transactions, verifying charges, recording charges, and ensuring vouchers are properly executed to balance all moneys are essential tasks. At the end of each shift, you will lock up and store all beverage, food, and other equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure the bank. Compliance with attendance rules and availability to work on a regular basis are required. You may also be assigned other job-related duties as needed. To be successful in this role, you should have a self-starting personality with an even disposition and maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Strong communication skills are essential, as well as the willingness to pitch in and help coworkers with their duties. Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages is required. You should have basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes. Sufficient manual dexterity in your hands is needed to use a knife to make garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock. The ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items is important. You should also be able to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check. The ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time is necessary, as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons. A current TIPS and Food Handlers Certification is required. You must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Be part of a supportive and dynamic team.
