Insurance Verification Specialist
Addison Group is actively hiring an Insurance Verification Specialist for one of our healthcare clients in the Phoenix area. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong insurance knowledge, attention to detail, and a passion for ensuring patients receive accurate and timely care. Job Title: Insurance Verification Specialist Location (city, state): Phoenix, AZ (Biltmore area) Industry: Healthcare / Insurance Pay: $20-21/hour Job Description: The Insurance Verification Specialist will be responsible for reviewing patient insurance coverage, verifying eligibility and benefits, and initiating pre-authorization requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare insurance plans and experience navigating payer requirements. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role with a focus on accuracy and customer service. Key Responsibilities: Confirm active coverage and benefits with various insurance providers Handle verification of insurance types including Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, PPOs, and commercial plans Identify benefit limits, co-pays, deductibles, and pre-authorization needs Obtain and track prior authorizations when required Review and resolve insurance-related discrepancies or issues Accurately input and update patient insurance details in the system Clearly communicate benefits and any patient financial responsibilities Maintain compliance with HIPAA and privacy guidelines Utilize knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes in the verification process Understand and resolve basic claims denials and insurance coordination issues Preferred experience with EMR systems, especially NextGen Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in insurance verification, billing, or related field Proficiency with medical insurance terminology and processes Familiarity with Arizona Medicaid (AHCCCS) and local commercial payers Ability to manage 40+ insurance verifications per day Strong computer skills and EMR system experience Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to multitask and work efficiently under deadlines Additional Details: Schedule: Full-time, Monday
