Casino Accounting Manager
Overview: Responsible for the development and implementation of accounting systems and procedures as approved by the Casino Controller in the validation, summarization and classification of all operating revenue transactions for the recording of journal entries and the preparation of the Daily Operating Report distributed to management. Prepare other financial reports, tax reports and participate in special projects as assigned by the Casino Controller. Directly supervises the Casino Accounting Clerks. Responsibilities: The daily review of the summary Table Games Master Game Worksheet, slot drop and slot balance report, Race & Sports revenue recaps, Race & Sports Book allocation report, and Daily Operating Report. The monthly preparation of the journal entries (i.e., slot revenue, table games, cage, poker, keno and race & sports revenue), adjusting journal entries, month-end gaming statistics, and reconciliation of counter checks, customer deposits and credit/fills. Prepare the Blackline monthly reconciliations that are assigned per job title. Prepare and review gaming MICS (i.e., daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual), Process payment requests pursuant to contractual agreements for fees based on certain statistical revenue information. Complete tax reports for payments (i.e., gaming, withholding, and foreign patrons' gaming winnings and tax on wagering.) Reconciliation of games bankroll balance sheet account. Coordinate search for production of records pursuant to subpoenas receiving from Legal Counsel. Maintain supply of checks and corresponding check request forms for Cage disbursement accounts and replenishes Cage supply based on requests received from Cage Manager. Trouble-shoot problems that occur with personal computer hardware and software applications located in casino accounting and contact appropriate technicians and/or programmers as dictated by the nature of the problem. Perform accounting systems and procedures review for new revenue departments, revisions of current procedures when deemed necessary, and projects or analyses assigned by the Casino Controller. Calculate progressive jackpot accrual and analyze progressive liability account estimate. Hire, evaluate, counsel and recommend promotions, salary changes, and disciplinary measures for the gaming auditors. Perform functions of gaming audit clerks, when necessary. Approve gaming auditor's time off, clock in and out times. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested. Qualifications: Ability to manage employees, training and coaching skills with evidence of developing exceptionally motivated teams Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate. Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results. Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required. Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Registration. Minimum age requirement is 21. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with approximately 2 to 3 years of previous accounting management and auditing experience.
