Office Of Equity Miscellaneous Support (Part-time/Temporary Position)

Reporting to the Chief Equity Officer of Equity, supported by the Office Manager, the Office of Equity Miscellaneous Support (Part-time/Temporary Position) will work directly with the Director of Black Student Success to support the mission of the District/Office and all priorities. This part-time/temporary position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for this role will consist of an estimated 20-30 hours per week for an anticipated period of 3-6 months, beginning 11/15/2024 and ending 06/30/2025. Due to the part-time/temporary nature of this work, this is not a benefit-eligible position. This role will report to the Director of Black Student Success. The part-time/temporary Miscellaneous Support Role will be held accountable for the following responsibilities: Draft documents and presentations to communicate with educators and students at school, network, and central office. Support coordinating and facilitating professional learning events, including tech support, and preparing professional learning materials (decks, facilitators' guides) in advance. Program management (scoping meetings, setting up logistics, progress monitoring, taking notes, briefing the ED, Director, and Data Strategist). Support the ongoing development of the Black Student Success Plan, Launch and Implementation, and all project activities. Additional ad hoc duties as assigned by the Director of Black Student Success. In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the part-time/temporary Miscellaneous Support Role must possess the following qualifications: Education Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student is highly preferred. Experience Required: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in racial and/or educational equity initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Commitment to racial equity in education in Chicago, ability to take notes, write summaries, and contribute to data-driven reports, strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment, familiar with and have used Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, etc, and Google Docs. Conditions of Employment: Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois. Be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 - Unless approved for a medical or religious exemption, all employees are required to be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and to submit proof of vaccination to the district within 30 days of hire. "Up-to-date" on vaccination is defined as being at least two weeks past all primary vaccine doses and any applicable boosters.
