Position Summary:
The Seal Product Manager is a strategic and technical leader responsible for overseeing the development, management, and marketing of sealing products within an organization. This role serves as the linchpin between engineering, manufacturing, sales, and marketing teams to ensure that seal products meet market demands, quality standards, and company objectives. The Seal Product Manager drives product innovation, identifies market opportunities, manages the product lifecycle, and ensures profitability across the seal product line.
Primary Duties: Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the seal product line based on customer needs, market research, and business goals. Identify new product opportunities and enhancements to existing products. Lead the product development process from concept to launch, working closely with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams. Manage the product lifecycle, including introduction, growth, maturity, and end-of-life, optimizing profitability and customer satisfaction throughout. Partner with sales and marketing to develop effective sales tools, product collateral, and training materials that support market penetration and customer adoption. Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to the seal product portfolio. Serve as the technical advisor for customers and internal teams regarding seal product applications and performance. Support key account managers with pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance, product demonstrations, and customer training sessions.
Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Science, Business Administration, or a related technical field. A master's degree is considered a strong asset. Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably in the mechanical sealing, industrial products, or manufacturing sectors. Strong technical knowledge of sealing technologies, materials, and industry applications (e.g., O-rings, gaskets, mechanical seals, elastomers, composites). Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills. Proficient in MS Office Suite, product lifecycle management (PLM) software, and CRM systems. Willingness to travel. Experience in global or multi-site product management roles. Familiarity with international standards (ISO, ASTM, API) relevant to sealing solutions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to sit, stand, walk and drive. Job requires frequent lifting up to 70 pounds, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, constantly walking/standing on cement flooring and climbing ladders as needed. Work environment may vary including warehouse containing moving equipment, fluctuating temperature and inventory in various storage arrangements. Salary:
$80k - $115k/annually, commensurate with skills and experience.
