Duties and Responsibilities: Adhere to guest service requirement listed above. Job tasks must be finished in a timely manner according to department standards. Adhere to department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards. Must be willing to cross-train in other departments of Hotel Operations as instructed by management. This is a uniformed position, which requires that team members are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty. Greet guests with a smile and pleasant disposition in a timely manner. Date-stamp, sort, and rack incoming mail and messages. Keep record of room availability and guest's accounts, manually or by computer. Compute bill, collect payment, and make change for guests. May post and correct charges to guest's folios (bills). Make and confirm room reservations for guests. Assist in the group sales efforts as specified by PBX Supervisor or Front Desk Supervisor. Complete all necessary reports as assigned by your supervisor. Answer all incoming calls routed to the operator in a knowledgeable and professional manner; alert other operators to calls holding. Direct calls to the proper extension. Make paging announcements in a clear and professional manner. Establish accurate accounts for players based on data entry guidelines, issue cards and explain the program to them. Update accounts with information changes and obtain missing information on player accounts. Answer questions about the Star Awards program, packages, transportation services, parking, facilities, hotels, restaurants, shopping, travel directions, and all events and promotions. Responsible for accurately identifying Elite, Star Club, and ACE Guests for Preferred Player Boarding and various other complimentaries. Must be able to gain knowledge of all methods of check tendering. Must be able to gain knowledge of all register and computer functions. Familiar with menu items, pricing, hours of operation, and current specials with daily operations. Keep area neat, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies, including Hotel Lobby. Turn in all cash and accounting paperwork using proper procedures in a neat and organized manner. Always conduct oneself in a manner that reflects a positive professional image. Must follow Missouri Gaming Rules and Regulations. Must be able to gain knowledge of the different coupons and expiration dates. Assist with training new team members until they are proficient and exceed Ameristar Casino Standards. Qualifications
Required Knowledge and Skills: General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus. Excellent communication and guest service skills are a must; friendly, outgoing, and service-oriented personality. Able to work any schedule understanding that the schedule may change as often as weekly. Moderate data entry skills. Money Handling Experience. Able to read and write English to sufficiently communicate with co-workers, guests, and supervisors. Additional Information
