Lead Engineer, NDE
Molex is seeking an experienced NDE Engineer / Inspector who will be responsible for the installation and monitoring of permanently installed ultrasonic corrosion sensors. The candidate will work individually as well as with teams in industrial plants, offices and lab settings and will need to work directly with customers to coordinate installations and communicate monitoring results. The position is based out of a Koch/Molex branch in the greater Corpus Christi, greater Minneapolis area or remotely. Essential functions: Perform site assessments in industrial plants to determine hardware requirements for the installation (sensors, transmitters, cables, etc.) Perform installations and configure mPACT2WOs corrosion monitoring hardware Service already installed corrosion monitoring hardware Perform monitoring of installed hardware and analyze thickness trends, A-Scans and sensor health using mPACT2WO's monitoring software Communicate procedures and monitoring results to customers and prepare inspection reports Provide feedback to hardware and software design teams to improve products Maintain industry certifications as ASNT UT Level II and/or API 570 Required qualification: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma and a valid driver's license Minimum of 2 years' experience in NDT as a certified inspector Must have a current ASNT UT Level II certification Ability to write comprehensive inspection reports Ability to understand standard piping isometric drawings Preferred Qualification: Bachelor's degree in NDT/NDE or electrical engineering Current API 570 certification Skills and Abilities: Ability to work individually and in a team Must comply with regular drug, alcohol & background checks (e.g., DISA requirements) Must be comfortable with travelling up to 25% of the time Must follow customer's safety guidelines when working at customer's site Must be able to tolerate working in hot & cold weather wearing personal protection equipment Must be comfortable to work in HF alky units and following special PPE requirements Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working in cramped or confined spaces Must be comfortable to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells Must have good attention to details Strong written and verbal English language communication skills At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
