The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing the kitchen's daily activities and along with the Executive Director, co-supervising the Cook. In carrying out the position's requirements, confidential working relationships with leadership, clinical staff, administrative staff, and clients must be maintained. Must follow all state and federal guidelines, exercise sound judgment and discretion, demonstrate initiative, trustworthiness, cooperation, and dependability while performing assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Pay:

$20 - $22 Hourly Shift:

This job is expected to complete the following functions. This is not an all-inclusive list. This job may be assigned other functions or tasks as business needs dictate. This is meant to be a general description of the most essential duties only. A. Kitchen Procedures Manage and oversee all kitchen procedures, this includes (but not limited to) food preparation process and safety and sanitation practices. Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings. Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages. Partner with Clinic Director to create department budget and adhering to set budget. Monitor kitchen equipment and supplies and arrange for repairs of broken equipment, when necessary. Remedy any problems or defects. Oversee the hiring, managing, and training of any new kitchen staff. Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards. Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between staff. Provide a high level of customer services to clients. Report any unsafe conditions or concerns to the Executive Director. Attend mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled. B. Skills & Qualifications

Required: Must be at least 18 years of age and must be free of substance use problems for at least one (1) year immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact. Must possess a minimum of high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED). Must have previous experience as a head chef or comparable Preferred Education: Some college or technical school 1. Knowledge of: Kitchen procedures Culinary trends State and Federal Kitchen cleanliness and safety guidelines Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Business and office practice/procedures Healthcare industry, especially substance abuse and mental health services Technology proficiency with various software packages including EHR/EMR and keyboarding skills Continuous quality improvement 2. Skills: Very detailed and organized Relates effectively with public, peers, subordinates (if applicable), and leadership staff Critical thinking and problem solving Strong customer service 3. Abilities to: Work under general supervision as well as independently in the absence of specific instructions Demonstrate initiative Maintain confidentiality Multi-task and work effectively under pressure in a high volume, fast paced environment Demonstrate work flexibility Follow all program personnel policies and procedures Effectively represent the company with a professional attitude with communication and interactions with co-workers, guests, family members, visitors, community and referral sources.
