Workers' Compensation Coordinator
The Workers' Compensation Coordinator sets up files for new claims and follows up with local offices for missing paperwork and retrieves medical paperwork for Medical Only claims. The Workers' Compensation Coordinator also monitors lost-time claims and modified duty claims, to obtain full-duty status outcomes or claim settlement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Initial set up of file for all new claims Requests medical documents from local offices for Medical Only claims Transfers claims to Lost Time Examiner when claim converts to Lost Time Monitors Medical Only claim status for closure Assists Claims Manager with achieving overall department goals Handles pending and new Workers' Compensation lost time claims to resolution Participates in conference calls with local offices, third-party administrators (TPAs), attorneys, and other Maxim employees, in order to communicate status plans Monitors TPA's file resolution plans Makes offers for light duty jobs Monitors lost-time claims for return-to-work Coordinates claim strategy with TPA adjuster Authorizes settlement of claims within authority level Tracks and maintains records for employee return to work status Performs other duties as assigned/necessary Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required Good organizational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service with individuals at all levels of the organization Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via excellent verbal and written communication skills required Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
