Director, CRAD and New Business Capture Lead
As the Mission Strategy and Advanced Capabilities (MSAC) CRAD Director in the Space Security and PNT organization you will lead Strategy Development, Technology Development and New Business Capture across the DOD customer mission space. Working within Lockheed Martin Space, this position will report to the Space Security MSAC Vice President. This position is aligned to the space control and protection Line of Business (LOB) and supports the space security and intelligence VP. This role synthesizes and shapes space security solutions by working closely with and across the portfolios. In this role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities: Oversee the development and implementation of the CRAD capture and strategy development for space control/security missions, products, solutions, technologies, and new business sales pipelines. Accountability to shape and win new business (including re-compete and task order expansions) through a balanced focus on customer value, the competitive environment, and the corporations best interests. Coordinate closely with the key stakeholders for technology development through Government CRAD and LM IRAD to position LM for best value short term and long term mission focused solutions. Develop capture strategy including business solution for pursuits; identify potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, and prices-to-win; manage bid and proposal activities. Has responsibility to lead and integrate the assigned cross-functional team and authority to direct team activities for the duration of the pursuit. Maintains ongoing interaction with business development. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Colorado Springs, and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate. To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications: Bachelors or higher degree required. 20+ years experience in aerospace and defense and across military and national security space customer markets, and previous relevant Government experience and relationships strongly preferred with the space customer groups stated above. Previous team leadership experience working on major captures and programs that cut across competing interests and equities to deliver consensus and desired end states. Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external networks and develop strong teams to achieve goals. Previous experience leading large pursuits/captures/proposals valued at $500M or greater, and strong capture win record and understanding of balance between customer, competitor and internal considerations in formulating an offering. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage across functional areas to engage them early and achieve results, and experience engaging government customers and developing trusted relationships. Ability and willingness to travel for business 2-3 times per month. You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET/SCI clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. To be effective, ideally, you should also have: MBA or other advanced degree preferred. Experience as a systems and total-offering thinker, with proven ability to bring decision clarity to complex organizations in dynamic environments. Advanced executive-level presentation and communication skills. TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred.
