Surface Grinder Operator
Hours: Saturday - Monday; 6:30am - 7:00pm Work 36 hours, get paid for 40! The Surface Grinder Operator is responsible for grinding and smoothing metal surfaces on workpieces using precision surface grinding machinery. This role requires a strong eye for detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. Operators must be self-directed and capable of working both independently and within a team in a high-performance, small-business manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
Operate surface grinder equipment to grind, chip, and smooth metal workpieces per specifications. Visually and manually examine the surface of workpieces for flaws or irregularities. Follow job orders, blueprints, and guidelines to properly finish materials. Replace worn abrasive disks and wheels as needed using hand tools. Guide tools precisely along workpieces to create bevels, grooves, or smooth edges. Maintain a clean and safe working environment and follow all safety procedures. What Youll Need To Win
Ability to remain on feet for extended periods; frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs. High attention to detail and a fine sense of touch. Basic knowledge of math, measuring, and use of hand tools. Familiarity with general shop equipment and grinding tools. Strong self-motivation and ability to manage time effectively. Good manual dexterity and a commitment to accuracy. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
