Quality Control Chief Inspector
Optimized Process Designs, LLC is seeking a Quality Control Chief Inspector who will be responsible for working with others to implement improvements to quality and/or performance. This role will be located in Mentone, TX. As the general contractor on some of the largest natural gas and gas liquids processing facilities recently built in the U.S., we're making big things happen at Optimized Process Designs. Our Team Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX with an expertise in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. What You Will Do Team Leader: Effectively work with others to implement improvements to quality and/or performance. Coach QC team members to perform inspections professionally, safely and without bias Direct work for teams up to 20+ Coordinate Receiving Inspection: Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Coordinate Construction Quality Control: Concrete, welding, torquing, and paint are some the items QC will oversee. Confirm only approved welders, procedures, materials etc. are being used in construction. Inspections are performed and documented correctly. Assistance and agreement with the preparation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's) Verification. Coordinate Document Control: Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into OPD's Construction Management System (CMS). Ensuring pressure test documentation and MC books are being built per OPD and client specifications. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Previous experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry. AWS CWI Certification Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Basic Computer Skills - able to use Outlook and Teams for emails and meetings. Willing to travel 100% of the time to locations that could be outside the Houston area. Experience as a Supervisor. NACE Coating Inspector Certification. API Certifications (570, 510, or 653) Knowledge of AMSE Section V, IX, B31.3, and API 1104. Proven ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers We expect all field employees to do: Serve as an accountable leader of Safety and Environmental Concerns at Field Sites. Actively participate in a strong safety culture. Recognize safety hazards and risks. Participate in onsite safety meetings. Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures. Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite. Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work. Display a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment. Some physical demands of being a QC Inspector include: Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations. Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day. Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis. Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.
