A CVOR Technician, also known as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician, is a healthcare professional responsible for assisting the surgical team during cardiovascular surgeries by preparing the operating room, ensuring sterile conditions, managing equipment and supplies, positioning patients, monitoring vital signs, and providing immediate assistance during procedures, all under the supervision of the surgeon and nursing staff; essentially acting as a vital support role in the cardiovascular operating room to ensure smooth and safe surgical procedures. Education/Requirements: High School education is required to obtain a job as a ST, but they can also obtain an optional certification to make them a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). To become a CST, they must complete an exam through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NBSTSA). Completion of a certified Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician program preferred. ***48-60 hours of call every 4 weeks week period
