This is a rare chance to become part of the International Program Management (IPT) team, based in Brisbane and working collaboratively together with colleagues in Europe to deliver an outstanding capability to the Australian Defence Force.
About the Role
The Program Director leads complex, high-value programs aligned with Australian Defence Force and government priorities. This senior role oversees strategy, delivery and performance across the program lifecycle. It requires expertise in Defence procurement frameworks (e.g. CASG), stakeholder engagement and compliance in secure environments. The role ensures alignment, risk management and delivery within scope, time and budget. Strong leadership and commercial acumen are essential to manage multidisciplinary teams and drive successful outcomes.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Defence Studies, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience); Extensive experience in program or project leadership roles, preferably in the Defence, Aerospace, Government or National Security sectors; Experience in ASDEFCON contracting principles and program management; Proven track record in delivering complex, multi-year Defence programs, preferably within CASG or other Defence Capability Lifecycle environments; Strong understanding of Australian Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment process, including Gate Reviews, Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), and ASDEFCON contracting; High level stakeholder engagement experience, including with senior Defence officials, government agencies and industry partners; Experience in risk, compliance and quality assurance within secure and regulated environments; Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required; and Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance - NV1 minimum (Australian Citizenship required).
