Banquet Setup Attendant
Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented Banquet Setup Attendant to join our team! MUST be able to work nights, weekends, holidays. Meets and exceeds customer expectations. Communicates effectively with customers, co-workers and supervisors. Schedule may vary- anywhere from 1-2 days per week consisting of 3-4 hours per day for set-up or 7-8 hours per day. Schedule is based on Event bookings. Being On-Call has a requirement/commitment of working at least 1X per month. Some months requiring more, all based on Events booked. The primary responsibility of the Banquet Set Up/Banquet Server is to provide the highest quality of service at all times to guests. Must be able to read a Banquet Event Order (BEO) and know how to complete a setup. Sets tables in assigned area (or checks to see that they have been set) correctly and uniformly, using clean, pressed linen (without rips, stains or tears); makes sure everything is set up in order and clean and pristinely set up. Set dance floor as needed. Performs all opening and closing side duties assigned. Cleans function room and back of house areas during and after functions. Returns all reusable table complements and condiments to be cleaned and refilled. Handles all assigned duties from management. Keeps station neat and clean during service. Constantly patrols assigned station, refilling water and coffee, removing service items and condiments per established policies and procedures. Serves food, coffee, water and other beverages to customers, refills beverages as needed. MUST be able to work nights, late nights, weekends, holidays. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to read and execute meeting/dining room diagrams for spaces, indoors and outdoors. Complete the physical set up and arrangement of tables, A/V & equipment according to the diagram. Assist in setting and breaking buffet tables and bar during and after an event is completed. Assist in setting a room with F&B equipment. Arrange buffets, stages, and podiums. Help servers complete their tasks, which include: arranging plates, running items to the bars, and setting up beverage stations. Maintain cleanliness of all public areas including lobbies, parking lots, smoking areas, and public restrooms, and assist servers with bussing tables. Exhibit teamwork and leadership to ensure that the event is setup in an efficient manner. Perform various other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of High School education Minimum of one (1) year in hotel/restaurant serving role KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to communicate effectively verbally Team player Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members Ability to work flexible hours and shifts The hiring process may consist of a phone interview, manager(s) interview, drug screen, background check, reference checks, and potential employment assessment.
