Crude Oil Analyst
We are seeking a Crude Oil Analyst who thrives in a dynamic trading market and is eager to learn about and contribute to understanding global oil flows. The ideal candidate should be exceptionally driven and possess a deep intellectual curiosity. Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and an analytical approach are essential qualities for this role. Koch Minerals & Trading (KM&T) with offices in Geneva, London, Singapore, Houston, Wichita, and New York is engaged in global trading and risk management activities in crude oil, refined petroleum products, metals and other commodities. The Crude Oil team has a presence in Houston, Geneva and Singapore and consists of traders who focus on crude oil trading in both physical and swaps markets. The Crude oil analyst will work directly with the Asian Crude Oil trader. We value integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Analyze global oil flows with a focus on Asia using ship tracking, arbitrage economics and industry publications Develop and maintain Crude Oil Supply and Demand balances for Asia and integrate them into a global model working with analysts in other offices Maintain price and cargo information data and highlight changes in flows, qualities and market incentives Model commodity data for specific markets and produce ad hoc analysis based on short-term market developments Connect traders point of view and analysis and challenge either when there are discrepancies between the two Communicate with other internal Koch teams to constantly evaluate assumptions and improve data quality Bachelors degree or equivalent Proficient computer applications knowledge in Excel and be able to work macros as well as VB programing for Excel. Must be a self-motivated individual and able to work independently without close supervision and with tight deadlines. The candidate should display intellectual curiosity and passion for the subject matter and should communicate with the team as such.
