Position Summary:

The Production Scheduler determines what parts to produce and when to meet customer requirements. Working with manufacturing teams, the Production Scheduler is responsible for maintaining the desired inventory levels for finished goods including safety stock with direction from the Production Scheduling Coordinator. The Production Scheduler will track and report productions numbers and anticipate problems that could affect the schedule.

Qualifications:

Required:

· Experience with manufacturing processes and productivity

· Basic understanding of MRP (manufacturing resource planning)

· Good math skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proven organizational skills

· Basic MS office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred:

· Associate's degree or equivalent amount of experience in a manufacturing environment

Primary Position responsibilities:

Production Scheduling & Planning

  • Develop, maintain, and publish daily/weekly production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, and resource capacity.

· Recommend overtime as needed

· Review production schedules and planned orders to determine resources required and prioritize as necessary to meet customer requirements

· Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs or other interruptions, collaborating with customer service, sales, production, engineering or shipping

  • Conduct capacity studies to determine machine, labor, and work-center availability.

· Cross-Functional Communication

· Report daily production hours and variances to management

· Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and capacity issues with production supervisors, coordinators, purchasing, and shipping teams

  • Perform other duties as assigned to include special projects, programs and developmental activities.

· Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

· Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing throughput or reducing bottlenecks.

· Evaluate the impact of new equipment, workforce changes, or line layout changes on overall capacity

  • Work environment:Primarily works in an office environment which is moderately quiet but can involve working under stressful situations. Some time may be spent in the manufacturing plant environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46, $55,741.35 per year
