Your Role as Chief Medical Officer As CMO, you will serve as both a strategic leader and trusted clinical voice, partnering closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape the future of care delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Championing the alignment of physicians and advanced practice providers with the organization’s mission, vision, and values
Leading clinical quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
Driving evidence-based care standards and best practices across clinical departments
Strengthening patient experience and HCAHPS outcomes
Serving as a physician advisor for utilization management and case review
Supporting medical staff leadership, committees, and physician governance
Acting as a key liaison between providers, administration, the Board, and the community
Mentoring physician leaders and fostering a culture of collegiality and engagement
Partnering on physician recruitment and retention efforts
Supporting regulatory compliance and accreditation standards
Collaborating on population health strategies tailored to a rural community
This is a role for a physician who enjoys building consensus, leading change, and maintaining a strong connection to patient care.

50% Administrative Leadership Executive CMO responsibilities as a member of the senior leadership team
50% Clinical Practice Maintain hands‑on clinical work within your specialty, ensuring credibility, connection, and fulfillment
