Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for a brand-new Emergency Medicine locum tenens opportunity in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
This assignment supports the April 2026 go-live of a newly constructed Freestanding Emergency Department with attached Urgent Care, offering providers the unique opportunity to join a program from day one and help establish clinical workflows, culture, and standards of care.

Shift Types: Day, Night, Swing APP Coverage:
Swing Shifts: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (Final APP hours per shift to be confirmed closer to go-live)
MD Coverage:
7:00 AM – 7:00 PM 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Emergency Department Overview
Annual ED Volume: ~25,000 visits Patients Per Hour: ~2.0 ED Layout:
7 ED beds 5 Urgent Care / Fast Track beds
Admission Rate: ~5% Transfers: ~3–4/day EMS Base: 2 miles from facility Acuity: Mixed ED & Urgent Care
Clinical Support & Resources
Radiology:
In-house reads 7a–11p VRAD overnight
CT: 24/7/365 Ultrasound: 24/7 on-call, bedside Butterfly ultrasound available
APP Clinical Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat ED and Urgent Care patients across all acuity levels Perform procedures within scope of practice Collaborate with supervising Emergency Medicine physicians Manage patient flow between ED and UC areas Document care accurately in Meditech Expanse Participate in the launch and stabilization of a new ED program
Candidate Requirements
Licensure: Active and unrestricted Kentucky NP or PA license (required) Certifications:
BLS ACLS PALS ATLS preferred (required for moderate sedation privileges if not EM-trained)
Specialty Training Accepted:
FNP ACNP PA
Experience: Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience required Supervision: Comfortable practicing under MD supervision
Credentialing
Credentialing Timeline: ~60–90 days Temporary / Expedited Privileges: Available for qualified files Go-Live Priority: Only candidates meeting requirements will be presented
