Cheer Home Care is hiring: Part-time Housekeeper in La Jolla

Hourly Pay Rate: $20-$25 per hour

Hours: Monday through Friday 2 to 3 hours a day or Monday, Wednesday, Friday 3 to 4 hours

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented part-time Housekeeper / Household Assistant to support a busy household and ensure a clean, organized, and well-run home environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, efficient, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a family setting with school-aged children. This role includes housekeeping, laundry, home organization, grocery shopping, and light household errand support.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

Housekeeping & Cleaning

• Perform routine cleaning of all living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen
• Dust, vacuum, mop, and maintain surfaces and floors
• Change bed linens and make beds
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of common areas
• Deep clean on a weekly or rotating basis as needed

Laundry & Clothing Care

• Wash, dry, fold, and put away laundry for the household
• Manage delicates, stain treatment, and garment care
• Organize closets, drawers, and seasonal clothing
• Ensure children's school clothes, sports gear, and uniforms are clean and ready

Home Organization

• Keep household spaces tidy, functional, and well-organized
• Organize pantries, closets, storage areas, and frequently used zones
• Help maintain a clutter-free, child-friendly environment
• Rotate or manage children's items (clothing, books, art and school supplies, etc.)

Shopping & Errands

• Grocery shop and restock household essentials
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, pantry items, and household goods
• Run occasional errands (returns, post office, pharmacy, etc.)
• Assist with preparing simple snacks or kid-related food prep if needed (optional)

Family & Child-Focused Support

• Maintain tidy spaces primarily used by the children
• Assist in establishing simple systems (for backpacks, school items, activity gear)
• Interact kindly and appropriately with children when they are present (no childcare responsibilities unless agreed upon), two children in school most of the time

Requirements

Qualifications

• Clear Background Check
• Clear TB Test
• Prior experience as a housekeeper, household assistant, or similar role, preferred
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Able to work independently, anticipate needs, and take initiative
• Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of family privacy
• Comfortable around school-aged children
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for errands
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks
