Warehouse Team Lead

Position Description Ryder is immediately hiring for a permanent full‑time Warehouse Team Lead in Hagerstown, Maryland. The role includes leading and ensuring continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations, performing warehouse functions (loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, cycle counting), allocating resources, inspiring teams to improve KPIs, orienting new employees, promoting health and safety, handling paperwork, submitting reports, and performing related duties.
Responsibilities
Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
Allocate resources and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
Inspire and guide team members towards improved KPIs using appropriate leadership styles and methods.
Assist in orienting employees and providing necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
Promote health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
Handle day‑to‑day paperwork, such as picking sheets, returns, bills of lading.
Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
One year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred.
One year or more previous experience as a Team Lead preferred.
One year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred.
One year or more previous warehouse experience preferred.
Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner advanced required.
Valid forklift operator's license certified.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Effective leadership skills.
Flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proactively approaches responsibilities.
Maintains composure under pressure.
Works using health and safety methods.
Bilingual (for Québec locations only).
Benefits
Hourly pay: $21.00 per hour.
Overtime pay: $31.50 per hour.
Shift premium: $1.50 for third shift.
Schedule: Third Shift Sunday – Thursday 10:00 pm – 6:00 am, OT as needed.
