Leads the development and execution of enterprise-wide IT asset management (ITAM) frameworks, policies, and processes aligned with technology roadmaps, compliance requirements, and cost-optimization goals. Manages the full lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring operational alignment with cybersecurity standards, environmental policies, and regulatory requirements. Oversees large-scale asset management initiatives, including audits, compliance programs, and cost optimization efforts. Integrates comprehensive asset lifecycle management with advanced practices to ensure compliance, maximize utilization, and align asset investments with organizational objectives. Leads and supports audit readiness and risk mitigation efforts. Oversees the centralized inventory of software licenses, subscriptions, and entitlements. Leads compliance tracking, renewal planning, and vendor negotiations to ensure cost-effective and compliant license utilization. Manages high-value vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service-level agreements (SLAs). Ensures value realization and accountability across supplier engagements. Provides strategic guidance and mentorship to a team of asset analysts/specialists and managers. Drives professional development, operational excellence, and continuous process improvement. Collaborates with finance and procurement to forecast asset requirements, define budgets, and lead cost-saving initiatives across the IT asset portfolio. Collaborates with senior leadership to align asset management strategies with business objectives. Delivers executive-level reporting on asset performance, license utilization, compliance status, and cost-saving opportunities using data-driven insights. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. What Required Skills You’ll Bring
Leadership in Software Transformation Programs : Proven experience in leading and driving software transformation initiatives within an organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivering measurable outcomes. Expertise in Software Asset Management (SAM) : Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in managing software assets, various SAM tools, including license compliance, optimization, and governance. Cost Optimization and Organizational Right-Sizing : Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize software usage, ensuring the organization is appropriately sized for its software needs. Deep knowledge of IT asset management frameworks, licensing models, risk mitigation, contract management, and compliance requirements. Advanced leadership, team management, and strategic planning skills. Advanced business acumen and ability to manage budgets and resources effectively. Ability to implement the vision and strategic direction for tactical and enterprise-wide initiatives. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and with all levels in organization. Ability to align asset management with business objectives (strategic thinking). Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple priorities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Expert knowledge of inventory tracking systems and logistical coordination. Advanced attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Experience with cloud licensing and SaaS entitlement management. Advanced project management, process improvement, and presentations skills. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field; or equivalent related work experience. 10+ years of experience in IT asset management. 2+ years of mentor/leadership experience.
