Summary This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by responsibly managing the department's supply inventory, charge capture, cost containment, and accurate billing from vendors.
Job Description Job Duties
Controls department specific inventory and anticipates outdated inventory
Responds to materials management concerns related to back orders
Prepares justification for variances based on general ledger
Investigates consignment opportunities and volume discounts
Reviews/revises charge system as needed
Establishes and maintains professional and ethical relationships with vendors
Demonstrates working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS coding
Maintains KanBan supply system
Initiates and procures/maintains adequate supply volume
Controls preparation and taking of annual physical inventory
Prepares supplies and stock for return to vendors for credit
Performs other duties as assigned
Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.
Department Specific Duties
Maintains ordering, tracking and billing for the Surgical Tissue Bank
Assists with room turnover
Assists at the front desk, answering phones and scheduling
Professional Experience
2 years in health care setting preferred
Education
High School Diploma required
Associate Degree in Applied Science preferred
Licensure, Certification, Registration
None
