to help power up, test, and commission refrigeration systems to ensure smooth, long‑term operation.
Role Overview This is a
field‑based role
for a detail‑oriented refrigeration professional who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems, and ensuring every detail is correct before handoff. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on with
rack systems, walk‑ins, reach‑ins, and associated control systems .
Location:
Ft. Lauderdale, FL (South Florida)
Compensation:
$28 - $35 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
40–50+ hours/week, some night work and on‑call responsibilities required
Responsibilities
Power up and commission new commercial refrigeration systems
Program setpoints and verify functionality for control systems (Emerson, CPC, Danfoss, etc.)
Perform pressure and leak tests, electrical checks, and refrigerant charge adjustments
Troubleshoot and resolve startup issues with electrical, piping, or mechanical components
Ensure all systems meet manufacturer specifications and project requirements before turnover
Document start‑up conditions, commissioning data, and punch list items
Collaborate with installation crews, controls technicians, and project managers
Facilitate smooth transition to service and maintenance teams
Requirements
2+ years of commercial refrigeration installation, service, or startup experience
Strong knowledge of rack refrigeration, condensers, evaporators, and controls
Ability to troubleshoot and tune superheat, subcooling, airflow, and refrigerant charge
Comfortable reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
EPA 608 Certification (Required)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Willingness to travel regionally to job sites (per diem provided). (West Palm Bch - Homestead)
