About the Role The organisation is seeking a senior Analytics Engineer to join its central analytics function on a W2 contract basis. This role sits between data engineering and business analytics, with a focus on building analytics‑ready data models in Snowflake that support reporting and insight across internal teams and portfolio companies. The role supports Power BI as the primary reporting and dashboarding layer but is not a Power BI developer position. The emphasis is on upstream data modeling, transformation, and data quality, ensuring consistent, trusted datasets that enable reliable reporting and decision‑making. You will work closely with data engineers, BI developers, analysts, and senior stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into durable analytics solutions.

Responsibilities
Build and maintain analytics‑ready data models in Snowflake
Develop and manage ELT transformations that convert raw data into high‑quality, reusable datasets
Partner with BI teams to enable consistent, well‑governed Power BI reporting
Define and maintain canonical business metrics and logic
Implement data quality checks, validation, and monitoring
Document data models, metric definitions, and transformation logic
Optimise performance and cost across the analytics layer
Support analytics initiatives across investment, finance, and portfolio reporting use cases
Qualifications
Strong experience as an Analytics Engineer, Analytics Developer, or equivalent role
Advanced SQL and strong dimensional and analytics data modeling skills
Hands‑on experience working with Snowflake as an analytics warehouse
Experience supporting Power BI through well‑structured analytics and semantic layers
Ability to work directly with senior business stakeholders
Experience in financial services, asset management, or complex regulated environments preferred
Required Skills
Strong experience as an Analytics Engineer, Analytics Developer, or equivalent role
Advanced SQL and strong dimensional and analytics data modeling skills
Hands‑on experience working with Snowflake as an analytics warehouse
Experience supporting Power BI through well‑structured analytics and semantic layers
Ability to work directly with senior business stakeholders
Experience in financial services, asset management, or complex regulated environments preferred
Preferred Skills
Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
Python experience for analytics workflows or data manipulation
Exposure to portfolio company or multi‑entity analytics environments
Experience operating in lean, high‑impact data teams
Pay range and compensation package W2 contract only. No C2C, no LLCs, no consultancy delivery models. Competitive hourly rate aligned with senior New York market benchmarks.
