Purpose
Under supervision, implement procurement strategies to optimise costs and to reduce supply risk. Carry out local negotiations with suppliers and ensure adequate contract cover and manage supplier performance in order to secure the required supply of raw materials according to company's needs and within corporate guidelines.
Core Responsibilities Sourcing/Purchasing
Develop and implement purchasing plans for assigned products, consistent with Procurement plans.
Timely find sources for new raw materials if not performed by Category Managers
Apply agreements for the site in conformance with global strategy for raw materials on TCO basis
Support inventory management decisions in conjunction with supply chain eg. Large/strategic purchases, crops etc.
Implement local savings initiatives and create local savings opportunities
Market analysis: identify alternate suppliers for local products
Select and Support suppliers/ RM combinations approval process
Support the timely follow-up on planning, quality and accounts payable escalations ensuring appropriate commercial relations with the supply base
Ensure security of supply (continuous monitoring and management of contract coverage to achieve a smooth flow of supply and adherence to materials planning requirements).
Manage suppliers and their performance (supplier rating). Resolve major issues with suppliers and management of supplier complaints
Data Management & Reporting
Keep all global and local systems (SAP) up to date with conditions, lead times, preferred contracts, pre-ferred suppliers, expiration dates, replacement costs/future pricing, visit reports etc (any data required for placing a complete PO)
Job Requirements Academic Background
Bachelor level - Local Procurement or Commercial diploma
Professional Experience
1-3 years of Procurement experience preferred
Experience in international environment a plus
Technical Skills
Understanding of procurement processes and systems
