Job Description Position:

Operations Technician – Ops Tech / Area Supervisor (training to lead)

Location: Bend, Oregon – full‑time, Monday – Friday, 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (≈ 4 – 5 ten‑hour days per week). The role involves light‑duty manufacturing on custom equipment in a clean, temperature‑controlled environment.

Responsibilities and Dynamics

Production Area Oversight

Support the operating team by teaching best practices

Assign work to team members based on forecasts and orders

Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials and finished goods using the ERP system

Special Projects

New equipment commissioning

Experimental product construction

Engineering improvement projects

Operational efficiency improvements

New technology research and integration

Equipment specification

Supply Chain Ownership

Facilitate local and international shipping between business sites

Manage raw‑material supply to various production areas

Propose process and equipment improvements with ROI calculations

Lead problem‑solving sessions with quality and operations teams

Maintain inventory/ shipping/operations records in ERP (Dynamics AX)

Communicate efficiently with vendors and internal stakeholders

Rotations & Development After initial training across these groups, the candidate will progress to an Area Supervisor role, rotating through additional business groups such as Purchasing, Sourcing, Engineering, Product Development and external vendors while applying LEAN principles to continuously improve quality and the production environment.

Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with computers

Experience managing short- and long-term projects

Strong written and oral communication; professionalism under high pressure

Enthusiasm for cross‑functional teamwork

Teaching or educating peers on new processes/equipment

Problem‑solving skills with consideration of risks, resources and deadlines

Mechanical, electrical or software proficiencies are a plus

Demonstrated supervision experience

Positive attitude toward new responsibilities and a learning mindset

Pay Range $28 per hour with structured increases based on work‑center proficiency and task completion.
