Scope of Position The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care.
The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.
Position Summary The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to patients and their families, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, delegates, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with the professional practice model.
Responsibilities
Providing direct patient care in the Acute Care Department.
Collaborating with attending physicians to deliver optimal team‑centered care.
Participating in Unit Leadership Committee and Evidence‑Based Practice initiatives.
Engaging in staff development and advancement efforts.
Required Qualifications
Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited program.
Current Ohio nursing license or interim permit.
Preferred experience in a relevant acute care setting.
Additional Information 9 East Doan is a 23‑bed unit focusing on acute and long‑term medical issue patients. The unit emphasizes team‑centered care and staff development.

Position Type Regular – Full Time
Scheduled Hours 36 hours per week
Shift Second Shift
Background Check Successful completion of a background check is required. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
