Position Summary Under general supervision, the RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Community Hospital/Northwest Surgical Hospital. The clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans in collaboration with the patient, family and health care team. Works as a team member within facility.
Essential Functions
Provides care to post‑surgical patients in Med‑Surg/ICU according to policy and procedure and care standards.
Maintains knowledge of medications, equipment, expected patient outcomes post‑surgery/recovery, and anticipated complications.
Coordinates patient care with multidisciplinary team.
Acts to protect and advance patient’s best interest.
Demonstrates competency in job duties as outlined.
Accountability
Reports to: Director of Nursing / House Supervisor
Supervises: PCTI, PCTII and HUC
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse Licensure with the State of Oklahoma required.
Minimum of one year experience in Med‑Surg, Emergency, or ICU preferred.
BLS Healthcare required within 30 days of hire. ACLS required within 120 days of hire.
Required Physical Demands
Strength (Lift, Carry, Push, Pull): Heavy (exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 lbs to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects)
Standing/Walking: Constantly; activity exists 2/3 or more of the time
Keyboard/Dexterity: Occasionally; activity exists up to 1/3 of the time
Talking (Must be able to effectively communicate verbally): Yes
Seeing: Yes
Hearing: Yes
Color Acuity: No
Environmental Conditions High exposure to hazardous risks including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment and chemicals. Must follow standard precautions. May require weekend or flexible schedules. Travel may be required. Exposed to weather conditions during travel. Good mental and physical health to work in a highly stressful atmosphere is required.
Compensation & Benefits Position - $15,000 Sign‑On Bonus.
