Our portfolio includes high-end residential developments, hospitality projects, branded residences, and private homes for top global clients, including Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton, and Waldorf Astoria.
MAWD | March and White Design is seeking an exceptional Interior Design Director to shape the future of our Los Angeles studio, a leader who blends creative excellence with strong operational and people leadership.
Education & Experience Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field, 12+ years post-graduate experience managing and delivering projects of exceptional quality.
You’ll bring proven leadership managing teams and multiple projects. Excellent client communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Design Spec. Strong mentoring and team-building skills.
Role Overview
Guide design direction, oversee multiple projects through all phases
Lead a team of interior designers and architects
Collaborate with Co-Founder & Financial Director, Head of New Business & Marketing, and studio leads in London and New York
Travel across the U.S. for client engagement
Key Responsibilities Creative Leadership
Define and uphold creative direction and quality standards
Lead concept creation and design refinement
Integrate Director and client feedback
Stay informed on trends, materials, and technologies
Project & Business Management
Oversee projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables
Manage team resources and utilization
Uphold quality control
Partner on proposals, presentations, and client pitches
Leadership & Culture
Mentor and develop the team
Lead weekly resource and management meetingsPromote MAWD’s values and culture
Required Skills
Expertise in interior design, FF&E design, and project delivery
Strong design communication and presentation skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, Studio Spec / Studio Designer
Excellent written and verbal communication
Leadership and mentoring skills
