Position Overview The Staff Physical Therapist Assistant assists the Staff Therapist with patient‑related activities and direct patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Treat patients as directed by Physical Therapist.

Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board.

Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences, as needed.

Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.

Treat patients per the physician treatment plan.

Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.

Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problem and plans.

Participate in in‑services training program for other staff in the facility.

Record treatment changes per policy and procedures.

Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance program and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.

Report any problems with department equipment so that it is maintained in good working order.

Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff and professional colleagues.

Qualifications Education and Experience

– Licensed as a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant by the Board of the State.

Computer Skills

– Proficient in inputting data into programs such as Casamba and Point Click Care.

Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, and Interpreting Skills

– Ability to read technical procedures, comprehend policy and procedure manuals, present information, solve practical problems, and interpret various instructions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

– Must hold a valid license as a Physical Therapist Assistant, meet continuing education requirements, and maintain a license in good standing with the state board.

Physical Demands Standing and/or walking very frequently; sitting occasionally; reaching with hands and arms frequently, pushing/pulling very frequently; talking and/or hearing very frequently; tasting and/or smelling very frequently; lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently, or 20 pounds constantly; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling occasionally; vision perception and ability to adjust focus.
